The UK's first Fusion Mesotherapy machine at Aldo Coppola

Want to know where all those in-the-know go for ground-breaking new beauty and health treatments?
Shh... but we'll tell you... it's the prestigious Sloane Avenue salon; Aldo Coppola, and they have launched the first ever Fusion Mesotherapy machine in the UK.

Aldo Coppola is located in the prestigious Knightsbridge/South Kensington area of London, and is loved by celebrities and the 'in-crowds' in Milan, Rome, Montecarlo and Moscow. In London, Aldo Coppola therapists will be using the Fusion Mesotherapy machine in the exclusive Cocoon Spa treatment rooms. These treatments perfectly fit with Aldo Coppola beauty ethos of ‘Advanced Beauty’ combining research, performance and luxury.

Although mesotherapy has been around for many years, Fusion Mesotherapy is a new concept in aesthetic medicine and the Aldo Coppola Spa has its finger on the beauty pulse!

The Fusion Mesotherapy machine will be used for needle-free mesotherapy treatments; the newest generation of professional and non-invasive treatments for enhancing beauty and health. The way in which the Fusion Mesotherapy machine works is by transmitting products that are applied to the surface of the skin through to the dermal layer of the skin using radio-frequency waves, because sometimes our skin just needs a little extra help!

The benefits of the radio-frequency method are bounteous; not only is treatment pain-free and needle-free, but it does not damage the skin, and the slight increase in temperature stimulates collagen synthesis and skin tightening- cue youthful, plump, healthy skin!

Highly trained therapists at Aldo Coppola are performing these advanced face and body treatments using a combination of state of the art products such as the exclusive specialist Swiss brand, Cellcosmet to prepare the skin.

Depending on what results you are looking for, the treatments can effectively target dark circles and under-eye bags, wrinkles, expression lines, stretch-marks and cellulite conditions- all our problems solved! Results can be instantaneous but for sustained benefits a course of six sessions is recommended, and prices start from £95.00 for the Eyes treatment; £110 for the body treatment.

Hello Santa... I have a new idea for my Christmas List!!!

HIS Hair Clinic's "amazing" solution to male hair loss

Adee Phelan is an award-winning celebrity stylist who starred in Channel 4's The Salon, who has clients ranging from Liza Minnelli to Marco Pierre White, Girls Aloud and Piers Morgan, .

Adee was responsible for that David Beckham crop for GQ magazine, emulated by millions in 2002, just before the World Cup. The funky asymmetrical Mohawk won him the Image of the Year award 2002, and made having a cropped hair style irrevocably cool.

Adee worked with us to produce the video link below, in which he talks about HIS Hair clinic's innovative solution to male hair loss; Micro Hair Technique (MHT®). The ground-breaking scalp pigmentation technique was pioneered and launched 9 years ago HIS hair clinic and creates a natural looking simulation of micro hairs on the scalp, creating the appearance of a short cropped hair style, à la Wentworth Miller and Vin Diesel (hello sex appeal!)

The technique can help men suffering from alopecia, receding hairlines, balding, partial hair loss caused for example by medication, and can even help to camoflage scarring on the scalp.

MHT® involves no surgery, no scarring, no hair pieces and the end result is not only highly effective but bang on-trend. HIS hair Clinic can customise the scalp pigment to suit the individual and give that flawless, confidence-boosting hairline coveted by many men.

Before treatment

After treatment
Adee is a huge supporter of HIS Hair Clinic's "amazing" MHT technique, saying "Finally there’s a product on the market that men who suffer from hair loss can relate to. Nowadays, cropped hair cuts are worn by a lot of men, so MHT is perfect for those who want an on trend look. Its non surgical and easy to maintain after the technique has been applied and I was amazed to find that HIS Hair Clinic have clients from all over the world that come to them for this treatment."

See below for the video:

Treatments are available throughout the UK in clinics based in the prestigious London Harley Street, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and the flagship Birmingham clinic.

LOVEFiLM Fashion Show at the Clothes Show Live!

The Furore PR team had a wonderful time at Birmingham's Clothes Show Live 2010 at the NEC last weekend, when we put on a fabulous fashion show for LOVEFiLM!

Europe's leading European DVD, Blu-ray and games rental service, plus London advertising company 18 Feet and Rising and us here at Furore PR worked together for the project, producing the amazing show on Sunday 5th December.

LOVEFiLM boasts Britain's largest range of films and games (70,000 and counting!) and a whopping 1.4million members. The service is a super-convenient way to get your movie fix, as you can watch films online, titles are shipped to your door for free and there are no late fees of fixed contracts. Just choose what you want to rent, then whenever you're done with it post it back in the envelope it came in. Simples!

18 Feet approached us as we are a Birmingham-based company and have lots of experience in organising fashion shows (we're the only PR agency outside of London to have clients at London Fashion Week!)

The show, titled 'Filmwear' was based on what people wear when they watch movies at home; cue shouldn't-be-allowed-but-I-want-one Onesies and custom-made clothing including an inflatable 'matress' dressing-gown, a quilted 'duvet' robe and 'pillow' pants!

Yes, you heard, your movie-watching companion can now rest their head on your padded jogging-bottoms- the ultimate in home-cinema comfort.

You've seen the 'Snuggie' blanket with sleeves, but the red quilted duvet-dress has a detachable pillow-hood! Just in case you venture outside in your cosiest coat yet!

The models on the catwalk played different characters like 'Twilight fans' and a hunky topless 'Bachelor' (check him out below), and strutted their stuff to a movie-inspired soundtrack including 'Eye of the Tiger' and 'Independent Woman'.

The show proves that LOVEFiLM love to entertain their audiences in innovative and sometimes wacky ways, and demonstrated how LOVEFiLM bring premiere films into the lives and living rooms of us mere mortals.

Now, where can I get my hands on a matress-jacket...

Beware the Seven Deadly Skin Sins...

Jack Frost is well and truly here so it's time to pay attention to your largest and most winter-whipped body part... your skin.

We blast it with icy cold weather, dry it out with central heating and often neglect its health and happiness in the festive season, so I'm here to highlight the Seven Deadly Skincare Sins you must avoid at all costs this winter...

1) Dehydration - The skin is made up of a large percentage of water the skin becomes drier with age, so the older you are the harder you have to work to retain moisture in your skin. Drinking plenty of water flushes out toxins, helps fight dark under-eye bags and of course helps to fight wrinkles. Institute BCN's MesoAge Hyaluronic Acid Treatment (£73 for 40ml) replenishes levels of the moisture-retaining filler Hyaluronic Acid in the skin to help re-hydrate and re-plump the skin for a healthy, youthful glow; protecting the epidermis, preventing water loss and smoothing the appearance of wrinkles. Another key product is Oxynergy Paris Hydration Intense Moisturiser (£40 for 50ml); a non-greasy cream formulated especially for normal to dry skin, which has hydration and anti-aging properties that both prevent and repair skin damage and aging.

2) Wrinkles - Collagen and elastin fibres in the skin decrease as we age, causing loss of elasticity. This results in aged, sagging skin and wrinkles, which accelerate when the skin is dehydrated too. Oxynergy's Hyaluronic Acid Filler (£48 for 30ml) contains moisturising and anti-aging ingredients including Hydromanyl and Hyaluronic Acid to help fill fine lines and maintain a hydrating moisture reserve without oiliness or stickiness.

3) Dullness - Skin can seem grey and lifeless when dead skin cells build up. The skin's natural renewal process slows down as we age so needs a little help by exfoliating products like Oxynergy's non-abrasive Enzymatic Peeling Cream (£30 for 200ml) which removes impurities and dead skin and enhances the absorption of other treatments. You can use a more robust exfoliant on the rough skin on the rest of the body, try mixing sea salt with olive oil and rubbing the mixture onto the skin in circular motions.

4) Malnutrition - In winter we tend to crave hearty, stodgy foods to warm us up instead of light, nutrient-rich salads, but don't fear! You can re-nourish your skin with Institute BCN's MesoVita cream (£82 for 40ml), which contains essential acids including polyunsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 & 6, vitamins A, E, C, F, B-complex and K, and the minerals manganese, iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium. This vital bio-nutrition revitalizes the tone and texture of damaged skin, stimulates cell renewal and nourishes deep down for a healthy glow.

Institute BCN's MesoCare Range
5) Sleeping in Make-up - Dry, old make-up blocks pores, which increases your risk of developing spots and also prevents oxygen from entering the skin. This hinders your skin's natural rejuvenation process, which takes place largely at night. Oxynergy Paris Cleansing Cream (£23.95 for 200ml)gently cleans and refreshes the skin, and why not double cleanse to redeem yourself for any skin sins by using their fabulous Lotion Hydro Gel too (£20.90 for 200ml)

6) Discoloration - MesoBlanche Melano Treatment (£68 for 40ml) is a depigmentation cream that helps to diminish hyperpigmentation, age spots, uneven skin tone, blemishes and sun damage to leave skin healthy and flawless. MesoBlanche also increases cell production by activating cellular respiration and oxygenation, and gently eliminates dead skin-cells, plus it contains soothing plant extracts and is SPF 30 to protect against damaging UV rays. Winner! Remember to check out any persistent skin abnormalities with a dermatologist.

7) Damage - Smoking, tanning beds, environmental pollution and the sun are just some of the factors that can damage skin. The sun is a major cause of premature skin aging, so use products with a built-in SPF, yes, even in winter as skin-damaging UVA rays still penetrate clouds AND windows! As much as possible try to detox your skin of the things you know don't do you any good: alcohol, tobacco, fatty foods, sugar... (the list goes on)... detox before you re-tox!

The principles above don't just apply to the face- our whole bodies deserve a little TLC this winter.

Oxynergy Time Exception Body Cream (£40 for 200ml) contains active ingredients and shea butter for effective anti-aging and moisturising results.

Institute BCN's MesoCell Adipo Treatment (£65 for 140ml) targets the cellulite that typically formulates on the lower body, by accelerating the body’s natural fat reduction mechanisms, boosting blood circulation, combating water retention and gently toning and tightening for smoother, stronger skin.

It is never too soon to take care of your skin, and remember, skin is for life, not just for Christmas!

The Best in Beauty

Well hello! Blog entry number 2 and it’s the turn of me, Sarah. I thought I’d follow suit and briefly discuss the upcoming season’s trends, but instead of fashion I’m going to focus on beauty with 5 top new trends.

Personally Autumn/ Winter is my favourite season, in regard to beauty my skin tone could be described as pale at best (I like to refer to myself as an English rose, as it gives the impression my skin tone is actually a fashion statement) therefore autumn/winter beauty trends suit me much better than spring/summer! This year’s trends in particular are making me excited for the arrival of the autumn months. I must warn you, the following summary of top new beauty trends contains some controversial suggestions……

1. Brown Eyes – Chocolates, toffees, caramels, coffee, pick a colour and go for it. Smoky is good, if you’re feeling adventurous, horizontal lines across the eye are also popular.

2. Red lips – YAAAAAY!!!! I can’t express my excitement enough. I don’t really need an excuse to use red lipstick as I LOVE this colour. You don’t need to go post box red, pick a shade that suits your skin tone, but strong and vibrant is the way to go. Deep purples have also made an appearance giving a bit more of a grunge feel.

Dolce and Gabanna

3. Nude Eyelashes – Yes, that means no mascara. I told you there would be some controversy. Well I don’t know what to say about this. I guess it saves money. It’s going to be hard to pull off this trend without looking like you missed out a step of your make up routine. I guess you could compromise with clear mascara, or at least step away from the false eyelashes; minimalism is key. Quite honestly I do believe this trend will stay on the catwalk.

Christopher Kane

4. Brows – controversial too. Think thick and dark. I do much prefer this trend to the ‘plucked with in an inch of its life brow’ which seems to be sweeping the nation, much to my disgust. If your not convinced, bushier eyebrows make you look younger….. FACT…..Sort of.

Narciso Rodriguez

5. Clear complexion –Perfectly finished healthy glowing skin is a must. There’s some new trends emerging in beauty treatments which can help to achieve this; Mesotherapy is the big one, it’s a new non invasive treatment that works wonders for lines and complexions. Oxygen treatments are also big, good if you live in the city as it can help restore damage done from pollution.
Fusion Mesotherapy

Oxynergy Paris

So there you go; my top 5 trends for autumn/winter 2010/2011.You might need to tone them down a bit and adjust colours for your skin tone, but there’s defiantly some great achievable looks out there.

Until next time!

Bye Bye Botox... Hello Happy Skin!

There has been a mass of media coverage recently documenting how celebrities and mere mortals alike are shunning invasive facial treatments like Botox and plastic surgery in favour of advanced skincare products and new anti-aging techniques like Mesotherapy.

This article in the Daily Mail heralds "Botox is out!", MyDaily say 'Never Mind the Botox', and CelebriFI points to research in the British Journal of Dermatology that says moisturising is better for preventing wrinkles than anti-aging.

Many celebrities are turning away from the muscle-paralysing substance too...
Anne Hathaway has reportedly shunned Botox, Kim Kardashian was left brusied after her TV Botox ordeal, Terri Hatcher posted anti-botox pictures on Facebook, Courtney Cox is against the frozen Botox-face, and Geri Halliwell has also stopped getting the injections.

Today the skincare focus lies on non-invasive treatments that help to prevent the signs of ageing; by applying products and using techniques on the surface of the skin that repairs and rejuvenates skin cells beneath the upper epidermis.

One of these techniques highly regarded by skincare professionals and researchers as well as by those forward-thinking individuals already using it, is needle-free Mesotherapy.

Needle-free Mesotherapy is a skin rejuvenating treatment that combines powerful active ingredients in specialist skincare with the latest medical and anti-aging technologies, and is one of the techniques used by Oxynergy Paris to combat the signs of ageing.

Oxynergy Paris provide skincare, treatments and devices which specialise in increasing oxygen and energy levels in the skin to maintain the look of young skin and reduce ageing imperfections.

Needle-free mesotherapy is achieved by using the Oxynergy enhancer machine, which uses pulsed high frequencies to induce the formation of transient pores and increase the trans-dermal delivery of the products into the skin. The specialist products can then be applied to the skin to penetrate into the skin cells themselves.

One of the active ingredients used by Oxynergy is Hyaluronic Acid, which has been hailed as the new way to combat anti-aging without Botox; see this article, and this one, and this article too!

Two of the products in the Oxynergy range that use this ingredient and are designed specifically to prevent aging skin problems like wrinkles, dryness and loss of elasticity are the Oxynergy Hyaluronic Acid Filler (30ml, £48) and the Hydratation Intense Moisturiser (50ml, £40).
The Oxynergy Filler provides long-lasting hydration with continual moisturising and anti-aging ingredients including Hydromanyl and Hyaluronic acid. Recommended to be massaged into the face and neck twice daily, this intensive serum has a silky soft texture that forms and maintains a hydrating moisturise reserve without even a hint of oiliness.

Recommended for use after the Hyaluronic Acid Filler is the Hydratation Intense Moisturiser.

Oxynergy Hydratation Intense Moisturiser is a rich facial treatment specially formulated for normal to dry skin. This soft, light cream is non-greasy and non-sticky, so can be applied to the face, neck and décolleté 2 to 3 times a day for intense hydration and anti-aging properties, enriched with active ingredients including Algicium C and Hyaluronic acid. The dual action formula both reduces the sources of skin aging within the cells, and promotes the repair of skin damages including collagen break down, hyper-sensitivity, wrinkles and loss of moisture.

I tested the Oxynergy Hyaluronic Acid Filler (30ml, £48) and the Hydratation Intense Moisturiser (50ml, £40).

Both products did what they said on the box- they moisturised my skin leaving it supple and soft, and didn’t leave my skin even slightly greasy or sticky.

The moisturizer was my favourite of the two products as it smelt great, felt wonderful on my fingers and face and I really saw results- fast.
I used these products for only one week and already my skin feels softer and more hydrated. I applied the products religiously before bed every night though the products are suitable for use multiple times per day, and if my skin was this hydrated after only one daily application then I welcome the effects of more frequent use!
If I continue to use these products for a longer period of time I believe they will help to prevent the signs of aging, by ensuring my skin stays plump and hydrated to help stop wrinkles forming, and by helping to prevent the loss of skin elasticity.
I’d definitely recommend these products to anyone who wants to treat their skin like it deserves to be treated- you and your skin are more than worth it!

So Kate and Wills are finally to be the hottest Royal husband and wife of the decade!

Wills proposed with the late Princess Diana's 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring, and on announcing their engagement on Tuesday Kate wore it beautifully and looked radiant.

Danii Minogue wears Fei Liu on X Factor

Stacey here!

Just want you all to appreciate Danii Minogue's (or her stylist's!) fabulous taste in jewellery as exemplified on Sunday's X Factor results show, when she wore our client Fei Liu's stunning drop earrings from his award-winning 'Whispering' collection.

The show reached millions of viewers and I'm sure most of them thought she looked bee-yoo-tiful.

The earrings look amazing with Danii's sleek sunkissed-bob . The green gemstones brought out the colours in her eyes (look how Striking they look!) and they really framed her gorgeous wish-I-had-it face.

Made from white gold and set with green amethist, green garnet and diamonds, these earings are just the right mix of dainty and dazzling; elegant enough to look classic and demure yet unique enough for Danii to reveal she has her finger on the fashion pulse.

I'm looking forward to seeing more stylish celebs wearing Fei Liu's fabulous designs in the future.

Fei Liu jewellery is available at Annoushka @ Harvey Nichols, Brown Thomas, Selfridges, Harrods and Liberty.

All the loverrrrrs....and hates of Autumn/Winter

Each member of the Furore PR team will take it in turn each week to write about a chosen topic.

I get the lucky job of being the first to write something interesting and I’ve decided to shout about which trends from the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010-11 season I’m really excited about and which trend I’d rather wait to come back round again!

Last week in the office we noticed that there was a lot of talk about the new trends, it featured in The Times, Grazia, ELLE Collections and my absolute personal fave, Stylist magazine.

So, the general round up of key trends for next season are:
  • Military
  • Minimal
  • Grey
  • Navy
  • Camel
  • 1950’s
  • Maxi skirts
  • Leopard Print
  • Velvet
  • Sheepskin/Aviator

Trends I’m looking forward to….

Grey - I’m a big fan of the colour grey; it goes with pretty much anything and can break up an outfit or add something different. Most people would rely on black as an option to play it safe, but I say if all else fails turn to grey.

1950s - Thanks to Mad Men, January Jones, Christina Hendricks et al, the 1950s silhouette is going to be huge, I love that women get to celebrate the curves in all the right places and have an excuse to look smart 24/7 –  two thumbs up for that!

Sheepskin - Absolutely love, love, love, the sheep skin / aviator look. Not really a fan of flying, but Burberrys Aviator jacket makes me want to take up flying lessons just so I’ve got an excuse to wear it! I’ve got my eye on the Topshop versions – big high 5 from me!

Burberry Prorsum

Now for the trends I’m not too keen on…..

Camel – Not again?? Wasn’t it just last year that camel was on trend, can we move on? This has been a topic of discussion in the FPR office, with me being the only one that’s not feeling the camel trend. Sorry to all of you who like camel, dare I say I find it boring??

Maxi skirts – the trend that I’ve got the biggest gripe with. Maybe its because I’m not incredibly tall, but the thought of wearing a maxi skirt throughout the winter months and having it drag through the rain and puddles doesn’t fill me with joy I’m afraid :(

Looking forward to blogging again, look out for more posts from other members of the Furore PR team coming soon!
