Bowen therapy takes away the down side of pregnancy

As many pregnancy women will know that pregnancy can really take a toll on a lady’s body and well-being; from morning sickness and tiredness to physical pain such as back ache and sciatica. Renowned obstetrician and author of ‘The Gentle Birth Method’ Gowri Motha, believes Bowen Therapy can help many pregnant women. Motha, who boasts Elle Macpherson and Sam Taylor-Wood amongst her celebrity mums, prescribes Bowen for cases of back pain, nausea, pubic and pelvic pain, mastitis, temporo-mandibular joint(TMJ) problems and for mothers who are anxious and tense. She has also found that Bowen can help with pelvic tilt, which often causes problems with the positioning of the foetus, and that there are Bowen procedures that can encourage the baby's head to engage.

As with many other alternative therapies the success of a treatment mainly depends on visiting a legitimate, well trained practitioner. The Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA), which is the largest UK professional association for qualified Bowen Therapists is an ideal place to find a suitable practitioner. Members of this association are qualified in Anatomy & Physiology and First Aid. They are also fully insured, abide by a strict code of conduct and ethics and are committed to a programme of continuing professional development.

For further information on Bowen Therapy and registered BTPA members in your area visit or call 0844 561 7173

Thanks from His Hair

It’s Thanksgiving this Thursday and  HIS Hair wanted to give thanks to all of their clients and supporters.

It has been such a fantastic year for them launching their new clinics on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles and 5th Avenue in New York. They have had a great response from the new clinics and are looking to launch in Chicago in spring 2012.

To pay back their supporters they are offering a free gift from Headblade for every person who books a treatment with them! It’s their way of saying thanks, without handing out turkeys.

In fact, the free kit worth $49 comes in a HIS Hair and Headblade branded box in celebration of our new partnership together.

Head in to one of their clinics for a consultation, or they can arrange one for you on Skype.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The free kit contains:
Headblade slick shaving foam 8oz
Time Magazine Design Award Winner Headblade sport razor and replacement blades
Head Lube SPF 30 8oz
Worth $49

Could QR be the new code for fashion?

Footballers from Bromfield FC look like they are starting a new trend by having QR (Quick Response) codes shaved into the back of their heads.

The team took to their razors in a PR stunt for Betfair’s new mobile site before their FA Cup tie with Leyton Orient.

Celebrity stylist Daniel Johnson, whose clients include, Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, was given the tough task to shave the styles into the sportsmen’s hair.

He said, “I’m used to styling footballers’ hair – and trust me I’ve had some weird requests from them before – but this was in a different league. The QR cuts certainly put my skills to the test.”

QR codes have to be incredibly accurate to be effective, even the slightest hair out of place could stop it from working hair, but Daniel Johnson is famous for his sharp cuts, so did the QR Code work?

Alex from Betfair said, “I’m pleased to say that the QR code did work, we based the haircut on a working QR code which our mobile team developed specially. Although to have successfully scanned the players’ hair you would have had to get up close and personal with them, and not too many people had that opportunity!”

Unfortunately, the new hair style didn’t do much for their performance as they lost 3-0 in the tie.

Oh well, at least they have their lovely heads to admire.

Movember is upon us!

It has come to that time of year again as a phenomenon sweeps the world. All around we see men starting to sport hair growth along their upper lip to raise money and awareness for men’s health charities.

The majority of men, even those losing hair in other places, are able to grow a moustache in a month and there’s no better reason to do it for than charity. In fact, we think it can add quite a distinguished look to a bald or cropped head. (See below)

To join, all ‘Mobro’s’ have to do is have a clean shave at the beginning of the month, register online and then leave their moustache to grow! People are encouraged to donate and throw parties at the end of the month to celebrate the moustache.

Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches, including celebrity ones, on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. To date, the campaign has raised over £106 Million worldwide and that is set to rise as the idea catches on.

According to the organisers, big steps have been taken towards changing attitudes and habits relating to men’s health around the world but there is still much to be done to catch up with the women’s health movement. Via the moustache, Movember aims to fulfill its vision of having an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health, by continuing to spark conversation and spread awareness of men’s health each year.

Is your man taking part in Movember? Do you think it looks sexy? Send us some pictures! We would love to see!
