Eastern Glo have several shades to perfect this look: choose ‘berry,’ a dark raspberry shade, or immerse yourself fully by indulging in ‘fusion’ or ‘saffron’ for a full-on dark, dramatic berry lip.

Embrace the trend for purple by indulging in Eastern Glo’s ‘Mystique,’ a silvery-purple shade, for added glamour, that is complimented perfectly by ‘Lavender’ to create a fresh, modern twist on the classic contoured eye.

Or dive straight into the trend by choosing ‘Jewel,’ a deep purple shade that will really make your eyes stand out this season.

With all these dramatic beauty trends, the perfect backdrop is to create a canvas of clear skin.

Eastern Glo’s mineral foundation is perfect for creating a clear base and achieving that sort-after barefaced beauty, allowing your skin to breathe whilst refusing to compromise on coverage.

This barefaced beauty look can also be achieved perfectly by opting for Eastern Glo’s pioneering BB cream, a modern-day beauty essential that performs a variety of tasks while enhancing your natural beauty.

Going for Gold: Bowen for Olympians

After years of preparation and excitement, London 2012 is finally here.

From Friday, you will be able to see the Games, which include tennis, judo, athletics and diving, in full swing.

However, if Olympians swing a little too hard, an injury could cost their country.

During the Beijing Olympics in 2008, U.S.shot putter Adam Nelson’s rib slipped out of place while he was practicing, which meant that the previous silver medal-winner picked up nothing.

Also at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai bent his right arm backwards and collapsed whilst competing and had to be taken to hospital.

And it’s not only athletes that could strain themselves.

During the run up to the Olympics, the public are encouraged to get involved with a lot more sporting activities which can lead to a lot more sporting injuries.

Typically to recover from a drastic sporting injury, months of rest and physiotherapy are needed.

However, on top of regular physiotherapy, Olympians (and aspiring Olympians) could benefit from Bowen Therapy.

The Bowen Technique works to heal niggling problems, pains or injuries in an extremely gentle but effective way.

Bowen is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires as opposed to ‘forcing’the body change.

During the 30-60 minute treatment, the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling, movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue at precise points on the body, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for that individual.

No hard-tissue manipulation or force is needed or used.

Between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

One client said: “I received Bowen for a sports related prolonged groin strain.

“The treatment was beneficial and greatly enhanced my quick return to sport.

“Since treatment I had had no further problems.”

Is the sun affecting your slumber?

So, we finally have some sunshine!

However, this pretty average heat for some can be a little overbearing for us cool Brits.

It can be difficult to get comfortable in hot weather, especially when you’re trying to sleep at night.

If you already have trouble sleeping, the heat can just exacerbate this, making it impossible to relax and snooze.

The Bowen Technique is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that can help stress and sleeping problems.

Rather than 'making' the body change, Bowen 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires.

During the 30-60 minute treatment, the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue at precise points on the body, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for that individual.

No hard-tissue manipulation or force is needed or used.
Between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

Bowen is known for its soothing qualities for physical complaints; however it is an extremely relaxing experience that can have many emotional benefits too.

One client said: “I heartily recommend the Bowen Technique to anyone who wants to remember how it feels to wake up refreshed; looking forward to the new day knowing you can deal with whatever it may bring.

I am now feeling much better, fitter and younger than pre-treatment. Thank you for revitalising me!”

Pantene Pro-V joins forces with UK cancer hair loss charity 'Cancer Haircare'

Within the UK, around 100 000 women experience cancer-related hair loss every year. With such a huge statistic, it really is shocking that UK charity ‘Cancer Haircare’ is the first of its kind, dedicated to alleviating the extra stress that hair loss places upon women battling with the illness on a daily basis. The notion of losing hair, for a woman, can be a very daunting prospect, as stereotypes embedded within our culture seem to dictate that long hair denotes femininity. ‘Cancer Haircare’ aims to help women come to terms with hair loss, giving support at all stages of the hair loss process, and providing tips, such as ways to fashionably tie scarves and great ways to style the hair as it re-grows, for women to re-claim their femininity, showing that it is not a woman’s hair that denotes her femininity, but her inner strength. As founder of ‘Cancer Haircare’, Jasmin Julia Gupta, states, “No woman has to face up to hair loss alone- together we can make hair loss one less worry.”

It has just been announced that global hair care giant, Pantene Pro-V, is teaming up with ‘Cancer Haircare,’ not only providing the charity with an initial large donation, but creating a special range of Pantene products, displaying the charity’s logo, of which 5p from every sale will go straight to the charity. These ‘Cancer Haircare’ charity products will be available from August this year.

This collaboration is great news, as the charity is finally getting the great support that it really deserves: not only financially, but the involvement of such a global brand, and the added celebrity endorsement from Cat Deeley, will raise the charity’s profile greatly, meaning that their ethos can reach even more women suffering from cancer-induced hair loss, and help to make their fight that bit easier.

HIS Hair Birmingham open day proves to be a hit!

Thursday 5th July saw the HIS hair clinic in Birmingham open its doors to the inquisitive public for a HIS Hair open day. The event proved to be a success, providing prospective clients with a very relaxed, informal opportunity to ask the experts all their burgeoning questions on the treatment and to establish how it can really change their lives for the better, while having the opportunity to see the Micro Hair Technique (MHT) performed right in front of them in the salon chair, and meet other men sharing their hair-loss problem, proving that they are not alone.

The MHT® was performed live in the HIS Hair clinic in front of those that attended, convincing possible sceptics that MHT is a non-invasive, efficient treatment that was working right in front of their eyes!

The open day received a great deal of very positive feedback, clearing up any doubts that prospective clients had, and indeed convincing many of the men that having this treatment is a complete no-brainer! One of the men that attended the event commented “it’s true what they say about it looking far better in person- made my mind up to defo have it done.” This future client went on to comment “I’m convinced that this treatment can give me the life I’ve not had in the last 30 years.” Another male attendee commented “seeing the finished product, watching people actually in the chair having it done was awesome, surreal and above all comforting to know that it’s not just me and all this is not a wind up.”

The Birmingham event at the HIS Hair clinic was clearly an all-round success, cleaning up any doubts with the treatment, convincing many men across the country suffering with hair loss that they are in no way alone, and that HIS Hair is here to provide an easy, non-invasive, and majorly life-changing solution. If you would like more information about the treatment, head on over to the HIS Hair website; http://www.hishairclinic.com/ , or why not pop in to the clinic today and find out from the HIS Hair experts how this treatment can really enhance your life.

Bowen therapists offer runners relief after Cirencester Race for Life

If you are heading down to Cirencester this Sunday to join in with the Race for Life, why not let Bowen reward you for all your hard work?

Bowen practitioners will be around to give those taking part a trial of Bowen therapy to relieve those deep aches, pains and stresses that will inevitably arise from your epic feat.

Bowen therapy works by releasing deep muscular stresses, allowing the body to recognise change and to heal itself, as opposed to manipulating muscular change like many other muscular treatments available, meaning that it is a much more effective treatment for aches and pains in the long-run.

Bowen therapy is a great complementary treatment for a wide range of problems, including sports-related injuries all over the body, perfect for addressing all of those problems that may arise after partaking in the Race for Life.

Don’t just take our word for it though, the Bowen testimonials speak for themselves! One footballer with muscular complaints to his back, groin, and upper-leg comments, “After a couple of treatments the problems I had been having virtually disappeared.” A client with a hamstring tear comments, “After my first Bowen session, the level of discomfort had reduced to 50% of what it had been.”

These are just two of the many testimonials that prove that Bowen therapy really works on sports injuries.

Make sure you get yourself over to one of the Bowen practitioners after the race on Sunday to find out more about how Bowen therapy can benefit you, and allow Bowen to sort out your aches and pains after all the hard work you’ve put in!

£200 DNA test reveals whether you’ll be bald by 40

A new gene test costing £195 is said to warn younger guys if they are likely to lose their hair.

Men who are found to have a certain genetic marker have a 70 per cent chance of being ‘significantly bald’ by the time they turn 40, say manufacturers of the test.

Those whose results are negative will almost certainly keep their hair well into old age.

However, the test allows those whose results are positive to take preventative action to slow down the process or counteract it completely.

The test is being offered by hair transplant surgeon Dr Bessam Farjo, whose celebrity clients include the Dragons’ Den judge Duncan Bannatyne.

Dr Bessam Farjo

In the test, a sample of saliva is taken from inside the cheek and sent to a specialist laboratory in the US to be checked for the genetic marker.

If it is present, hair follicles are likely to react to a hormone in the body and gradually stop growing.

The test is not conclusive and cannot predict how fast or at what age hair will disappear.

Test results are available after 10 days.

Although scientists discovered the genetic variation several years ago, this is the first commercial test that reveals whether or not men have inherited it.

Stressed police may be mental health risk

Policemen and women are more likely to experience psychological trouble, according to research by the University of Buffalo.

The study shows that officers are more likely to suffer long-term mental and physical consequences due to the daily stress of their work.

The study, which considered the wellbeing of Buffalo Police Department members over a five-year period, found strong links between the stress of police activity and sleeplessness, suicide and obesity in later life.

Dr Almuth McDowall, a Chartered Psychologist said: "This US research resonates with our own research here in the UK. The police has been having a bad press lately, but people forget that officers and staff do a demanding and often difficult job day in day out.

"An example is PC Ian Dibell who sacrificed his own life to deal with an incident a few days ago. The job can be inherently dangerous, and cut backs in numbers have meant that demands on individuals have increased.

"Frontline officers are particularly at risk for stress and burnout, but also at risk for work-family conflict. The welfare of the Police must remain a key concern as the effects of the spending review take hold.”

Could the intensity of Tour de France ruin Britain's chances?

Following our Wimbledon disappointment, it's good to see that Britain's hopes of winning Tour de France are looking promising.

Brit Bradley Wiggins is currently wearing the yellow jersey, meaning he’s leading, after his amazing stage nine performance yesterday.

This year, Tour de France is 2,173 miles, lasting a fortnight with only two rest days.

So far so good, but even the most thorough of stretches wouldn't be able to shift the lactic acid in the cyclists stiff muscles and aching joints.

The Bowen Technique works to heal muscular problems and sporting injuries in an extremely gentle but effective way.

Bowen is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires as opposed to ‘forcing’the body change.

One Bowen client said: "I was impressed with the way my therapist assessed my complaints and the treatment was given in a calm, professional way which made me relaxed.

"I have benefitted so much from the therapy and would recommend anyone to give it a try."

National International Kissing Day! with love from Eastern Glo x

Pucker up for International Kissing Day!

July 6th may seem like an irrelevant date for most, but it’s definitely a date that we should pencil into our diaries with our lip liner.

Beginning in the UK, National Kissing Day caught on and has now become International Kissing Day or World Kiss Day.

The idea of the day is to remind people of the simple pleasures associated with just kissing, as opposed to kissing as mere social formality or prelude to other activities.

Kissing can be an enjoyable experience in itself; it is an expression and experience of intimacy.

If you want to make your lips look irresistible then go for Eastern Glo’s lipstick in Candy or Passion (of course).

These lipsticks are mineral-based, meaning they don’t dry your lips out like other lipsticks - leaving them kissable and hydrated.

Could Bowen have improved Italy's 2012 chances?

Euro 2012 came to a dramatic end last night, as Spain were crowned the champions and Italy went home empty-handed.

After three substitutions, Italy were left to tackle La Roja with just 10 men.

Italian right back Giorgio Chiellini limped off with a left hamstring injury, the same problem that kept him out of the quarterfinal victory over England.

Thiago Motta fell to the pitch grasping his right hamstring, spelling the end for Italy's comeback chances.

Motta, who had some physical problems in training last week, had to be carried off on a stretcher, leaving Italy with 10 men as Motta had replaced Riccardo Montolivo just 4 minutes earlier.

It appears some of Italy’s casualties were experiencing some ongoing sports-related injuries that may have been preventable with Bowen.

The Bowen Technique works to heal niggling problems, pains or injuries in an extremely gentle but effective way.
